Digital Mammography

Home / Services / Digital Mammography

Low-dose breast cancer screening with complete privacy and dignity.

Duration: 15–20 minutes Report: Same day Shastri Chowk, Raipur

About This Service

Mammography is a specialised low-dose X-ray of the breast that can detect cancers 2–3 years before they can be felt by hand — when treatment is simplest and most successful. Digital mammography at Ruprela produces sharper images at lower radiation than older film systems.

We understand this examination can feel sensitive. Our setup ensures complete privacy, female staff assistance, and a respectful, unhurried environment. Sono mammography (breast ultrasound) is also available for younger women and as a complementary examination.

Screening mammography is recommended every 1–2 years for all women above 40 — earlier if there is a family history of breast or ovarian cancer.

What We Offer

  • Screening Mammogram (Both Breasts, 2 views each)
  • Diagnostic Mammogram (focused evaluation of a lump/symptom)
  • Sono Mammography (Both) — ₹2,199
  • Combined Mammo + Sono evaluation for dense breasts

How to Prepare

  • Schedule for the week after your period, when breasts are least tender.
  • Do not apply deodorant, powder or lotion on the chest/underarm area that day.
  • Wear a two-piece outfit for convenience.
  • Carry previous mammogram films/reports for comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a mammogram hurt?
The breast is gently compressed for a few seconds per image. It can feel uncomfortable, but should not be painful — tell our technician and pressure will be adjusted.
At what age should I start?
From age 40, every 1–2 years. With a family history of breast cancer, your doctor may advise starting earlier.
Is the radiation dangerous?
The dose is very small and tightly regulated. The life-saving benefit of early detection far outweighs the minimal radiation risk.
